Huddersfield tech firm grows into plant sector

A West Yorkshire software company is sowing seeds in the gardening market.

Huddersfield-based SaaS company Adventoris has launched a B2B sales app for The Bransford Webbs Plant Company, a Worcestershire nursery specialising in innovative and ornamental plants for garden centres.

The app, built on Adventoris’ flagship SwiftCloud platform, allows customers to browse products, place orders 24/7, access technical information and contact the nursery at any time.

It replaces Bransford Webbs’ previous web shop and fully integrates with its ERP system, streamlining operations and creating a seamless experience for garden centre customers across the UK.

James Clarkson, chief executive and founder of Adventoris, said: “We are delighted to have supported The Bransford Webbs Plant Company in their digitisation journey, helping the team to increase efficiency, speed and attractiveness of ordering.

“The wholesale plants industry can have its challenges with ordering, with many customers not having the infrastructure to do so with ease.

“Implementing SwiftCloud has allowed us to transform Bransford Webbs’ processes by allowing customers to have all the information they need in the palm of their hands.”

David Chilvers, sales and marketing director at The Bransford Webbs Plant Company, added: “Garden centres are not awash with computers, so our customers often had to make physical notes of stock they wished to order and take themselves away from the shop floor to either phone the order through or log onto a computer.

“This can be time-consuming and a barrier to ordering.

“Customer access to stock information and the ability to use push notifications through the app to highlight special offers has been the biggest success.

“It gives our customers total control over their stock availability.

“The sheer flexibility of being able to check availability of stock, see what customers have pre-booked and confirm the orders all from the palm of their hand has reduced the opportunity to push back on orders, and has had the most positive effect on the customer.

“SwiftCloud, understood our business and working methods from the start, adapting features within the app to work for a wholesale nursery where we have one or two quirky ways of working.”

Founded in 2012 by James, Adventoris now employs 50 staff from its Huddersfield headquarters and serves 227 clients, including household names such as PepsiCo, STAEDTLER and AG BARR.
