Federal brings sunny brunch vibes to Leeds
A popular brunch spot is heading over the Pennines to open its first Yorkshire café in Leeds.
Federal, the Manchester-born café famed for Kiwi and Aussie-inspired menus, will open a 1500sq ft venue on Boar Lane this autumn, seating 70 guests.
Diners can enjoy all-day brunch dishes such as French toast, steak and eggs, haloumi and shrooms, alongside coffee, teas, fresh juices, wine, beer and cocktails.
Founded in 2014 by Claudio Ribeiro, Federal has grown to four Manchester-area outlets and earned a reputation for standout coffee, social-media-friendly drinks, and welcoming service.
Recently named the UK’s most popular independent café, it has also been ranked fourth globally.
Claudio said: “Choosing Leeds for our first café outside Manchester felt like the natural next step.
“Leeds has many similarities to Manchester with the same buzz and a growing independent brunch and coffee scene.
“We don’t expand for the sake of it; we wait for the right time and the right energy for Federal.
“Everything we do is fuelled by passion for great brunch and great coffee, and creating the perfect space for every occasion and every type of customer.
“Now feels like the perfect time to bring the Federal experience to Yorkshire and join Leeds’ growing independent food and drink scene.”
Federal Leeds will feature bright, fresh décor, lush greenery, vibrant artwork and an open kitchen, bringing the brand’s signature ‘Sunny Side Service’ to the city.
