Builder breaks ground on waterfront home scheme
Work has started on a “statement” waterfront housing scheme.
PMC Construction has begun groundworks at Portsmouth’s Victory Quay.
Bosses say the work will lay foundations for 183 homes – as part of a wider 835-property development – which will create a “new gateway to the city”.
The first homes are expected to be completed in late 2026.
Cosham-based PMC Construction was appointed by Portsmouth-headquartered affordable homes provider VIVID to carry out the work on the project, which is supported by Portsmouth City Council and Homes England.
Tristan Samuels, VIVID group development and new business director, said: “Victory Quay is about more than building homes – it’s about building futures.
“Phase one lays the foundation and sets the tone for everything we’re building, and PMC Construction’s appointment marks a key moment in turning vision into reality.”
Steve Cripps, PMC Construction managing director, added: “Victory Quay will be the new gateway to the city.
“This development is a real statement by VIVID; it will breathe new life into land that’s been unused for many years.”
