Lighting firm aiming to shine brighter after deal
A lighting firm says it has switched on growth plans after completing an acquisition.
Artech Lighting has taken on Powerlite Fitzgerald’s trade and assets.
Bosses say the move will expand Artech Lighting’s product range while reducing manufacturing costs and extending Powerlite Fitzgerald’s global reach.
Under the terms of the deal – structured as an asset purchase with an ownership option – bosses say Powerlite Fitzgerald will operate as a separate entity primarily focused on UK wholesale operations.
They add Artech Lighting – based on Meadowfield Industrial Estate, near Durham City – will continue working across global commercial construction markets.
The agreement, first announced earlier this year and catalysed by Keighley-based Powerlite Fitzgerald owner Nick Robinson’s retirement, was completed with support from Anglo Scottish Asset Finance alongside funding partner Close Brothers Broker Solutions.
Stuart Hylton, Artech Lighting managing director, said: “This acquisition is not only a major milestone for Artech, but a positive development for Powerlite Fitzgerald’s legacy.”
Dean Cowley, of Anglo Scottish Asset Finance, supported Artech Lighting throughout the process, alongside Jessica Pooley, broker development manager at Close Brothers Broker Solutions.
Jessica added: “The acquisition is a smart, forward-thinking move that enhances both businesses and strengthens their market position.”
