Apprenticeship deal builds skills for the future
A training specialist is strengthening its role in tackling the construction skills gap through a new acquisition.
Moore Networking, a social enterprise with more than a decade of experience running shared apprenticeship schemes, has bought Sheffield-based EN:Able Futures CIC, an award-winning flexi-job apprenticeship service that was part of Efficiency North Holdings.
The move builds on EN:Able Futures’ record of employing nearly 600 apprentices since its creation in 2013.
Operating as the parent company of EN:Able Futures, bosses say Moore Networking will expand the offer to property and construction employers, enabling them to take apprentices for full or part placements.
They add that the deal comes as Government policy sharpens focus on foundation apprenticeships and addressing unfilled roles in the sector.
Paul Wright, director at Moore Networking Limited, which is based in Badersfield, near Norwich, said: “EN:Able Futures has done a great job of developing a successful shared apprenticeship service.
“Moore Networking is looking forward to continuing this excellent and much needed work and collaborating with EN:Procure to do so.
“Moore Networking has decades of experience in the successful delivery of skills and apprenticeship programmes and we are looking forward to working in partnership with the team to continue to grow and develop the services they offer.”
Lee Parkinson, chief executive of Efficiency North, added: “I am immensely proud of the achievements of EN:Able Futures and I look forward to seeing the company’s continued growth and success under the ownership of Moore Networking Limited.
“From the outset we’ve been dedicated to ensuring the organisation taking on EN:Able Futures shares our values and has a demonstrable record in the apprenticeships and training sector, which Moore Networking confidently does.
“Our existing relationship with the team has supported a successful transition, alongside EN:Able Future’s high-quality care for the apprentices during this time.
“EN:Able Futures will continue to be close partners of our procurement arm, EN:Procure, in the delivery of apprenticeships as an integral part of our Gen-4 Framework’s social value strategy and any other opportunities we can collaborate on to build communities in the North of England.”
