Fletchers Group extends reach to Reading
A Manchester-headquartered legal firm is expanding its presence in the South East.
Fletchers Group has opened a new office in Reading following the acquisition of Shoosmiths’ serious injury and clinical negligence teams.
The Reading team manages sensitive cases, from birth injuries to catastrophic trauma, and is recognised in both Chambers and Legal 500.
Bosses say the move brings more than 80 fee earners, including eight partners, into the firm, strengthening its capability to handle complex personal injury and clinical negligence cases across the region.
They add it marks the firm’s ninth acquisition in three years and is part of its strategy to become the UK’s leading serious injury and clinical negligence practice.
Charlene Mann, managing director of new acquisitions at Fletchers, said: “Expanding into the Thames Valley was a strategic priority for us.
“The team joining us in Reading brings an exceptional track record and shares our belief in putting clients first, always.
“We’re delighted to welcome them into the Group.”
Denise Stephens, one of the country’s leading medical negligence specialist solicitors and head of Fletchers Reading, said: “We have an excellent team here in Reading, who have unrivalled and unparalleled experience in both personal injury and clinical negligence.
“Most importantly, we have a team that cares deeply about client outcomes and has built lasting relationships in the local community.
“Becoming part of Fletchers gives us the scale, focus and investment to take our work even further.”
The Reading office joins Fletchers’ other sites across the UK, which include Birmingham, Northampton, Cambridge, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool, Bolton and Southport.
