New solicitors and first apprentice join law firm
Northern law firm Square One Law, based in Newcastle, Leeds and Darlington, is celebrating the appointments of two newly qualified solicitors and the success of its first paralegal apprentice.
Declan Fahey, an MLaw graduate from Northumbria University, has qualified into the corporate team, having trained across a wide range of corporate transactions.
Meanwhile, Dominka Cudak, also an MLaw graduate, joins the commercial litigation and dispute resolution team, continuing her work on complex disputes.
And Kyle Taylor, pictured below, is the firm’s first apprentice to progress from a Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship to the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship.
Based in the Leeds office, he has completed his assessments and is on track to qualify as a solicitor in four years.
Kyle Taylor
Kyle’s two-year paralegal course at BPP Law School combined practical experience with study across public law, contract law, land law and property practice.
He said: “My aim has always been to become a solicitor, and I am delighted to have achieved this milestone.
“Completing my paralegal apprenticeship and to be moving straight onto the solicitor apprenticeship is huge for me.
“I’ve found it really helpful and a great opportunity to combine theory with practice, as I’ve learned the ropes of what being a paralegal is all about.
“I’m looking forward to building on my experience at Square One Law and am pleased to be part of the growing Leeds team and hope to be the first of many apprentices to qualify here.”
Gill Hunter, managing partner at Square One Law, added: “We’re incredibly proud of Declan, Dominka and Kyle, who each represent the future of Square One Law in different ways.
“Declan and Dominka are talented new solicitors strengthening our already excellent corporate and litigation practices, while Kyle is genuinely blazing a trail as our first solicitor apprentice.
“Supporting different career pathways into law and increasing opportunities for people are things we’re passionate about.
“Kyle’s progress has been brilliant to witness and demonstrates the vital role apprenticeships can play in developing the next generation of legal talent and helping firms grow.”
