BHP drives growth with 71 promotions

BHP, the independent accountancy firm, has promoted 71 people as part of its continued growth strategy, recognising talent, potential and dedication across the business.

The promotions include five new directors, with Aaron Lowery becoming corporate finance director in Leeds; Amanda Townsend, Charles Evers and Julie Hahn appointed head of audit operations, director of transaction services and director of digital finance, respectively, in Sheffield; and Claire Hodgkinson taking up the newly created role of audit quality director in Chesterfield.

More than 30 trainees have advanced in their ATT qualifications, while colleagues across service lines – including six senior managers, three managers, five assistant managers, a financial planner and a brand creative design lead – have also been promoted, reflecting BHP’s commitment to recognising and developing its people.

Karen Arch, chief people officer at BHP, said: “People are a business’s biggest strength and at BHP we believe in creating an environment where everyone can not only thrive, but feel empowered to deliver work which makes a real difference to clients.

“As a result of this approach, we are able to nurture and grow the right talent who are able to offer trusted advice, now and in the future, and thrive within their respective roles.”

Lisa Leighton, joint chief executive at BHP, added: “2025 has been a landmark year for BHP.

“We have continued to grow, supporting more businesses and organisations than ever with expert advice, relocated our Sheffield team to a new city centre office and welcomed a record number of new trainees.

“It’s important that we always remember what is enabling this success, and that is our people.

“We are thrilled to see 71 colleagues’ hard work and effort recognised by these deserved promotions.

“I look forward to working with all of them as we continue to deliver a real impact in our business and on behalf of our clients, enabling us all to thrive in the current ever-evolving business landscape.”
