Clegg Construction secures city hotel project
A building contractor is set to support a city hotel scheme.
Clegg Construction has been appointed to deliver a pre-construction services agreement for Leeds’ George Street hotel project.
Bosses say the agreement “marks an exciting step forward in the continued regeneration of Leeds city centre”.
They add Clegg Construction will work alongside Leeds City Council on the pre-construction services agreement, providing support during the design and planning stages to “improve buildability, cost certainty, risk management and overall project delivery”.
Christian White, Clegg Construction’s pre-construction director, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to deliver services on this important project.
“We look forward to working with key project stakeholders and the wider community over the coming months.”
The work builds on a number of Leeds-based projects secured by Nottingham-headquartered Clegg Construction in recent years, which include the £37 million Fabric Works student accommodation scheme and Hotel Indigo Leeds’ refurbishment.
Councillor Jonathan Pryor, Leeds City Council’s deputy leader and executive member for economy, transport and sustainable development, said: “The council has a long-standing ambition to deliver a hotel on its land at George Street.
“The appointment of Clegg Construction represents an important step on the journey to that ambition being realised.”
