Evans Halshaw appoints market area director

Automotive retailer Evans Halshaw has appointed Robert Hamilton as market area director for BYD, supporting the company’s continued retail expansion.

Robert, who joined Evans Halshaw in 2009 and has over 15 years’ experience in the automotive sector, will oversee all five UK BYD retail sites, including Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Rotherham, Shrewsbury and Chesterfield. 

His role will provide strategic direction and support to the retail teams as Evans Halshaw strengthens its partnership with BYD.

Robert said: “Our goal is to become BYD’s leading retail group partner in the UK, with a network and customer experience that truly represents the brand’s ambition. 

“I feel genuinely empowered and driven to make the most of this new opportunity and I’m confident we’re in a great position to support the group’s vision and drive the growth of this exciting brand.

 “My number one priority is to deliver an inclusive, supportive and engaging customer experience. 

“Communication, collaboration and clarity will be key to achieving that.”

With the UK now the leading retail market for BYD outside China and sales up 880 per cent in the past year, Robert’s appointment reflects Evans Halshaw’s commitment to growing its presence in the rapidly expanding electric vehicle sector.
