BDO adds senior dealmaking expertise in Yorkshire
Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has expanded its Yorkshire deals team with the appointment of senior industry specialist Ben Coggin as transaction services partner.
Ben joins the Leeds office from EY, where he was a partner in the transaction diligence team, bringing extensive experience across technology, media, business services and industrial markets.
In his new role, he will focus on growing BDO’s transaction services practice across Yorkshire and the North East, supporting mid-market businesses exploring strategic transactions.
Ben said: “I’m delighted to be joining BDO as a transaction services partner.
“I was drawn to BDO for its strong brand and clear focus on the mid-market.
“I’m really looking forward to working with both the transaction services and wider Leeds deals team to help unlock the significant growth opportunity the organisation has both nationally and in the Yorkshire region.
“On a personal level, I’m genuinely excited about working with the wider BDO community to continue building a team culture that values authenticity, collaboration and a growth mindset.
“It’s an exciting time to be joining the firm.”
Ben’s arrival coincides with internal progression in the team, including the promotion of Jeff Gardner to partner, and follows the appointment of Tim Day earlier this year to help expand BDO’s private client and private equity M&A capability across the region.
Jason Whitworth, partner in Yorkshire and North East at BDO, added: “The Yorkshire deals team has a fantastic reputation in the region for its drive, expertise and passion for supporting dynamic businesses looking to expand through strategic M&A.
“Ben’s appointment strengthens our position and reputation across key regional sectors.”
“His experience working on private and capital markets transactions is a valuable asset to the team.
“Our deals proposition has never been stronger.”
