Roadnight Taylor adds new connectologist
Oxfordshire-based grid and connections consultancy Roadnight Taylor has strengthened its specialist team with the appointment of electrical engineer and grid connections expert Alex Ikonic.
Alex joins as the business prepares clients for the upcoming Gate 2 review process, enabling Roadnight Taylor to expand its capacity by around 20 per cent.
She brings eight years’ experience across distribution- and transmission-connected renewable projects, most recently within Ørsted’s grid team, following earlier leadership of the grid connections team at TNEI.
Alex said: “I’m so excited to be joining Roadnight Taylor.
“I’ve been following the company’s journey for the past few years, and like so many, have always been impressed by its role within the industry, and the culture.
“I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and helping clients navigate key grid challenges for projects across the country.”
Her appointment supports growing demand from organisations in energy, data centres, industry and real estate as they face increasing complexity in securing viable grid connections.
Alex becomes the latest member of Roadnight Taylor’s Connectologist team, which includes several leading industry figures shaping national grid policy and connection processes.
Hugh Taylor, chief executive at Roadnight Taylor, added: “Alex is a fantastic addition to our team of Connectologists.
“She embodies the rare combination of technical expertise, regulatory understanding, and collaborative approach that defines a Connectologist.
“We’ve been looking to expand the team for two years, but as they're a rare group of specialist experts, the right person is genuinely hard to find.
“The timing is perfect too.
“With Gate 2 reviews representing a critical juncture for many projects, her expertise will help organisations navigate these complex offers alongside their existing teams.”
