Investment firm unveils North East Roots alliance
An investment firm has partnered with a charitable organisation to boost a region’s future success.
Develop North is working with Community Foundation North East.
The alliance will cover the inaugural North East Roots Homecoming celebration, which will champion the region’s global community and ambition.
Running from December 5 to December 8, Homecoming will unite people with strong North East ties to share ideas and support economic growth and regeneration across the region.
The programme will include networking events, cultural showcases and a high-profile summit focused on engaging diaspora and boosting inward investment.
As part of the celebrations, Jackie Fitzgerald, Develop North residential and real estate fund manager, and Home or Houses founder and director, will join a December 8 Homecoming Summit at Northumbria University as a panellist in a discussion hosted by Bdaily editor Steven Hugill.
On the same day, Michelle Percy, from Develop North’s advisory board, will present a Homecoming Award at Newcastle’s Boiler Shop in recognition of a local business’ success and charitable aims.
Ian McElroy, Develop North director and chief executive of Tier One Capital – which manages London Stock Exchange-listed Develop North – said: “Homecoming is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the ambition and talent that makes the North East such a vibrant place to live, work and invest.
“Develop North is proud to support this initiative and play a role in driving inward investment and regeneration across the region.”
John Hollingsworth, Community Foundation North East chief philanthropy officer, added: “Homecoming is about more than celebration; it’s about connection and a commitment to the North East.
“We are delighted to be working alongside Develop North, which shares the same commitment to our region.
“By engaging our global North East community, we can bring opportunity home, unlocking investment, ideas and support for the region we love.”
Since its founding in 2017, officials say London Stock Exchange-listed Develop North has supported more than 40 projects and helped create in excess of 12,000 jobs.
Earlier this year, it unveiled a real estate growth blueprint aimed at expanding financial support for North East businesses, housing and regeneration projects.
