Regeneration Brainery hires new operations director
National social mobility organisation Regeneration Brainery has appointed Joanne Dennis-Jones as operations director for the Midlands and the South, strengthening its leadership as it expands across the UK.
The newly created role supports the next phase of the charity’s growth as it builds its presence in key regional markets.
Joanne brings experience from WSP/GL Hearn and Deloitte, alongside ambassador work with the Global Girl Project.
She said: “The importance of initiatives like Regeneration Brainery should not be understated.
“It is essential that we engage, support, encourage and grow the opportunities for our young people to learn about careers in the built environment and bridge the skills shortage – especially those who may not see themselves represented in the sector.
“Having recently completed our Birmingham Brainery Week and seen first-hand the positive energy of the students; I am even more excited to help grow our reach, invest in our Partner relationships and deepen our impact across the Midlands and the South.”
Founded in 2017, Regeneration Brainery helps young people access careers in property and regeneration through mentoring, hands-on experiences and long-term support.
With programmes now running in eight cities and further expansion planned for 2026, Joanne will focus on driving local engagement, developing partnerships and overseeing programme delivery.
She joins Laura Stott, who becomes operations director north, leading growth across the North East and Scotland.
Michele Steel, chief executive of Regeneration Brainery, added: “Joanne’s appointment is a pivotal moment for Regeneration Brainery.
“Her deep understanding of the built environment and her passion for inclusive growth make her the ideal person to lead our work in the Midlands and the South.
“As we expand into new cities and communities, alongside Laura, Joanne will play a key role in ensuring our programmes are locally rooted, nationally connected, and consistently impactful.
“We’re thrilled to welcome her to the team.”
