S&W makes second senior London tax hire
Professional services group S&W has strengthened its London tax practice with the appointment of Matthew Roach as partner, marking its second senior tax hire in the capital within a week.
Matthew brings more than 20 years’ specialist experience in real estate and funds tax.
He joins from senior roles at KPMG and Interpath, where he advised on major UK and European property transactions, fund structuring, real estate finance and loan portfolio deals.
His clients have ranged from leading private equity real estate funds to mid-market and entrepreneurial investors.
Matthew said: “I’m excited to join S&W at such a pivotal time in its growth journey.
“The firm’s ambition and collaborative culture really stood out to me, and I look forward to working with Mark, Kersten and the wider team to help clients navigate complex real estate tax challenges and achieve their strategic goals.”
Matthew’s appointment follows the recent hire of Kersten Muller as head of business tax in London, reinforcing S&W’s commitment to expanding its market-leading tax capability.
Mark Webb, head of business tax at S&W, added: “Matthew’s appointment is a significant step in expanding our London tax practice and enhancing our real estate capabilities.
“His deep expertise in real estate tax and experience advising on complex, high-value transactions will enable us to deliver even greater value to clients.”
