EMG Solicitors makes senior promotions
CountyDurham-headquartered law firm EMG Solicitors has promoted two senior associates to departmental director roles as it continues to focus on growth and client service in 2026.
The B Corp-accredited firm, which has offices in Durham, Darlington, Newcastle, Penrith, Manchester and Reading, has promoted Samantha Hind to departmental director for court of protection property and affairs, while Stephanie Rodgers has been promoted to departmental director for wills, trusts and probate.
Working alongside the firm’s chief executive and wider leadership team, Samantha and Stephanie will help deliver EMG Solicitors’ business strategy and support their teams across its UK-wide office network.
Samantha joined EMG Solicitors in 2024, while Stephanie is approaching four years with the firm, having both progressed into leadership roles from senior associate positions.
Samantha said: “As one of the largest independent Court of Protection teams in the UK, we’re dedicated to supporting individuals who lack the capacity to manage their own financial affairs.
“It’s a core part of the work we do at EMG Solicitors and something, I’m proud to say, we’re very well-known and respected for.
“In my role, I deal with all elements of Court of Protection Property and Affairs, acting as a professional deputy and professional trustee, advising on personal injury trusts, statutory wills and lay deputies.
“My specialism being litigation support and working with individuals with an acquired brain injury, as a result of negligence.
“As part of my new role, I’ll be helping to increase our presence across South Yorkshire and using my unique knowledge in deputyships and personal injury litigation to support more vulnerable individuals and their families and assist their litigation teams to secure the right outcome for the clients’ settlements.
“Another key part of my role will be working with the technical team at EMG Solicitors to ensure we’re fully compliant with any new case laws, or changes in legislation that might impact the way we work.
“I want to enhance the service we’re offering for the benefit of all our clients.”
Stephanie added: “Our team advises on all areas of private client work, from wills and estate planning to the administration of estates, in relation to trusts and on capacity matters, including Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection applications.
“We act for a wide range of clients, which makes my job really interesting, and it’s a pleasure building longstanding relationships with both clients and their other advisors, who we work closely with to provide a holistic service.
“In my new role, I’ll be supporting the team in Gosforth as well as the wider Wills, Trusts, and Probate department across our offices.
“I’m passionate about working with colleagues to deliver exceptional client service and to support their professional development.
“Looking ahead, I’m keen to contribute to the growth of our department; building on the outstanding reputation we’ve established.”
Samantha and Stephanie's promotions come at a key moment for EMG Solicitors, as it prepares to welcome its 200th employee and continues to build on its strong reputation in the private client sector.
Samantha added: “All of the people I work alongside at EMG Solicitors genuinely believe in and live by the values we’ve set ourselves as a company.
“Integrity and kindness are at the heart of The EMG Way, and I feel that we are a firm that rewards hard work and excellence but also recognises the importance of family life and a healthy work-life balance.
“I had the pleasure of attending our tenth annual WonderLAN Ball recently, which is an event we deliver in support of Headway - the brain injury association, to raise money for brain injury survivors and their families.
“I’ve recently stepped into the chair role at the Rotherham office of Headway, and I’ve received a huge amount of help and encouragement from my colleagues at EMG.
“Everyone is supported to get involved in local charitable initiatives, and I think that’s fantastic.”
Stephanie added: “We’ve created a really great team of like-minded people who place a huge amount of importance on supporting our clients.
“The emphasis we put on our five values and The EMG Way creates a really positive work environment and helps us provide a consistently excellent level of service.”
