S Jones Containers raises standards again

An industrial services business is strengthening its operational credentials as it builds on a growing focus on safety, sustainability and compliance.

S Jones Containers, a specialist in shipping container sales, hire and conversions, has achieved two further ISO accreditations following a successful audit process. 

The fourth generation family-run firm, headquartered in Aldridge, in Walsall, has been awarded ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety.

The ISO 14001 accreditation recognises the company’s structured approach to reducing its environmental impact, with measures including waste reduction, energy conservation and investment in more sustainable infrastructure. 

Recent improvements include the introduction of a biodiesel container lift truck, upgrades to its head office and workshop facilities, and plans to install solar panels.

Meanwhile, ISO 45001 confirms the company’s commitment to employee health and safety, supported by new digital systems to manage training and compliance, alongside regular site briefings and toolbox talks.

The latest accreditations add to S Jones Containers’ existing registrations, including JOSCAR and RISQS, further strengthening its position across regulated and safety-critical sectors.

“While they are not mandatory for the majority of projects we work on currently, we wanted to future-proof our position to allow us to continue to undertake complex projects for global leaders in the aviation, automotive and engineering fields. 

“We already hold ISO 9001: Quality Management System, which guides our processes to ensure we deliver consistently high quality products. 

“Having these additional ISOs in place will open new doors for us and we see it as an important step as part of our strategic growth plan across all divisions, from container hire and sales to conversions and modular solutions.

“It marks the start of an exciting new chapter for us here at S Jones Containers.”
