Harrison Drury appoints land disputes specialist
Independent Northern law firm Harrison Drury, which has offices in Clitheroe, Garstang, Kendal, Lancaster, Lytham, Manchester, Preston, Southport and Stoke-on-Trent, employing more than 200 staff, has strengthened its land and property dispute resolution team with the appointment of chartered legal executive Annie Akhtar.
Annie joins the firm from the Country Land and Business Association, where she worked as a legal adviser supporting rural clients.
She previously spent four years at Michelmores LLP, working within the firm’s agriculture team and advising on a wide range of land-based matters.
In her new role at Harrison Drury, Annie will advise landowners, farmers and rural business owners on agricultural land and property issues, including complex and high-value disputes.
Annie said: “I’m excited to be joining a firm with such a strong reputation in the property sector and one that’s also known for its deep farming and rural sector expertise.
“Agricultural matters are rarely straightforward and understanding the commercial and personal pressures clients are under is often just as important as the legal advice itself.
“I’m looking forward to helping clients overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes.”
Annie’s appointment further enhances the firm’s specialist expertise in supporting clients across the rural and agricultural sector.
Joseph Mitchell, partner in Harrison Drury’s land and property dispute resolution team, said: “Annie is an excellent addition to our growing team which is now up to 14 members.
“As well as her deep experience and knowledge of the rural sector, she brings a practical, solutions-focused way of working that will help our clients understand their options and move forward with confidence.”
