Recruitment firm bosses eye growth after buyout
New recruitment firm bosses have unveiled growth plans after completing a management buyout.
Heather Croft and Vanessa Slater have taken over KES Solutions UK.
And the director duo say they are primed to roll out an expansion blueprint.
The plans come after Heather and Vanessa assumed control of the business – based in Chilton Moor, near Houghton-le-Spring – from founder Kelly Swann, who left to pursue new opportunities.
Boasting clients across the automotive, petrochemical, warehousing and engineering sectors, seven-staff-strong KES Solutions UK latterly recorded £3.7 million turnover.
Heather, from Peterlee, East Durham, said: “When we were given the chance to buy the business from Kelly, we were both so excited.
“Vanessa and I knew the business inside out, and I think Kelly was happy she was handing it over to people who cared as much about it as she had done.
“We’ve formed a firm plan of what we’d like to achieve, and our approach is to make subtle changes and target organic growth.
“The business is well established, so we don’t need to try and fix something that isn’t broken.”
Vanessa, from South Shields, added: “We knew it was the right time – personally and professionally – and the right thing for the team too.
“The biggest challenge we faced was getting our heads around the things that come with running a business, like finances, management and business development.
“We’re both ambitious and want to help the business grow, but in the right way.
“It has to be right, so we can deliver what we promise and every client always feels as valued and important as the next.
“We’re feeling so positive about what the future holds.”
