Business board launches recruitment drive
A Tees Valley business body has launched a recruitment drive to attract experienced leaders to help shape the region’s economic future.
Tees Valley Business Board is seeking new members to strengthen its work driving inward investment, supporting business growth and improving skills across the area.
The board represents the voice of local companies and gives senior business figures direct influence over decisions aimed at creating jobs and attracting new employers.
Made up of private sector experts with hands-on leadership experience, the board supports initiatives designed to help existing firms expand while ensuring local people can access high-quality employment opportunities.
Matthew Ord, who was appointed chair of Tees Valley Business Board last year for a four-year term, said: “I want the Business Board to ensure the voice of business is strong and central to shaping the Combined Authority’s plans for the future.
“I want our board to take a fresh, inclusive approach to its work and we want the very best of our business leaders to join us.
“If you value integrity, openness and are committed to working together for our region’s success, put yourself forward and join the team.”
Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen added: “This board plays a hugely important role in making sure the decisions we take are grounded in real business experience and focused on delivering growth.
“We’ve laid the ground, but we’ve still got big ambitions to attract global investment, to help local firms scale up and creating good quality jobs for our people.
“Having the Business Board, with Matt at the helm, helps ensure what we’re doing works in the real world for employers and workers alike.
“If you’re a business leader who wants to shape the future of our region and make a genuine difference, I’d urge you to put yourself forward.”
