Dynamo Park lands first occupier
A commercial development in Stockton-on-Tees has secured its first occupier.
National Highways has agreed a freehold deal with Wilton Developments for a 29,500sq ft combined office and depot at Dynamo Park on Cheltenham Road.
Construction is underway, with the facility expected to be operational by the end of the year and home to 270 staff.
The project marks the first building on the site, with Stainforth Construction delivering both the unit and wider infrastructure works to prepare remaining plots for development.
Steve Cooke, director of estates and facilities services at National Highways, said: “The development of our new combined office and depot at Dynamo Park will become an important part of our estate supporting our long-term vision of connecting the country.
“As we take over direct operational control of the management of the A19 the new facility will be key in delivering safe, well-maintained roads.
“We are also consolidating our nearby Darlington office onto the site to ensure we have an efficient estate to support operational delivery which is Better, Greener and Smaller.”
Dynamo Park has capacity for a further 530,500sq ft of industrial and warehouse space.
In total, the scheme could support more than 1145 jobs across the site and wider supply chain.
Rach Whitfield, development director for Wilton Developments, added: “It’s fantastic to secure such a high-profile occupier as the anchor for this flagship development.
“It will set a benchmark for a high-quality range of industrial space planned for Dynamo Park.
“We are now on site delivering the infrastructure needed to open up the remaining plots for a further 530,500 sq ft of industrial space at this prime A19 location.
“The development will drive job opportunities, inward investment and economic growth in the area, capitalising on the lack of available stock in the region for businesses wanting to upgrade their facilities and environmental credentials.”
