Family-run North East baker opens new store
A North East food retailer has expanded its regional footprint with a new store opening in Sunderland, creating new jobs in the process.
Family-run Dicksons has launched its 34th outlet at Durham Road Retail Park, supported by legal advisers Sintons.
The new store, which has created eight jobs, features a self-select pastry display, a loyalty rewards app, an upgraded kitchen layout and a new till system aimed at improving customer choice and service speed.
Chris Hayman, managing director of Dicksons, said: “Given everything involved in taking on a new site and delivering an exciting new concept, it’s been invaluable to have long-term partners like Sintons and Lofthouse and Partners on hand to keep things moving.
“Their timely, clear and highly knowledgeable communication has added real value throughout, and Hannah Hornsby has been outstanding from start to finish.”
Hannah Hornsby, an associate in Sintons’ real estate team, who led on the Durham Road project, added: “We are pleased to have been involved in this acquisition for Dicksons.
“The site is part of a larger new-build development which comes with its own legal complexities but results in a brilliant new store.
“It is great to be a part of Dicksons continued growth and development of their new-concept stores which will provide an additional quality to their already established and well-regarded brand and retail outlets.”
