Work set to begin on 250-plus home development
Building work is set to start on an £80 million venture promising hundreds of affordable homes.
Lovell Partnerships and Platform Housing Group are primed to break ground on the Perrybrook development at Ventus Brook.
Bosses say the Tewkesbury scheme will provide 122 social rent houses, 88 shared ownership homes and 62 rent-to-buy properties.
They add the first properties on the development – which is backed by Homes England grant funding – are earmarked for completion by the autumn.
Michael Baggett, director of land and partnerships at Midlands-based Platform Housing Group – which will manage the properties – said: “Starting work at Perrybrook is an important step in helping solve the housing crisis.
“We look forward to welcoming people to these homes.”
Councillor Alex Hegenbarth, lead member for community housing at Tewkesbury Borough Council, said: “It’s great to see Platform’s scheme beginning at Perrybrook.
“This development will make a real difference to the availability of affordable housing.”
Chantel Cresswell, Lovell Partnerships’ regional head of partnerships, added: “Our work alongside Platform and Tewkesbury Borough Council is a clear example of the benefits a collaborative approach brings.”
