Wain Estates strengthens planning team
Warrington-based strategic land company Wain Estates has appointed Amy Aldridge as senior planning and development manager to support the continued growth of its national portfolio.
Amy joins from a national land promoter, where she spent seven and a half years after graduating with a degree in Geography and completing an MSc in Planning.
She brings technical expertise and experience in promoting strategic land through the planning system.
Based at the company’s headquarters, she will manage a portfolio of large and medium-sized sites across the UK, working with landowners to secure planning permission and bring forward new housing in line with local authority targets.
Having grown up on a farm in Cheshire, Amy also brings a landowner perspective to the role, supporting relationship-building across Wain Estates’ rural network.
She said: “I’ve always enjoyed being involved in the entire planning side of the job.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of something that can genuinely change people’s lives and help landowners unlock value from their land.
“Coming from a farming family, I can relate to landowners and understand when certain times of year are busiest, which really helps when building relationships.
“I’m excited to join Wain Estates and be part of the close knit team.
“It feels like a really exciting time to join as a planner.
“Planning in the last few years has been strained, but the relaxation of restrictions feels refreshing and opens up opportunities to progress sites where it was much more difficult before.
“The timing now feels right for sites across the board, and I’m looking forward to a busy period reflecting on significant changes to Government policy and helping deliver the homes local authorities and many people and families need.”
Angela Heaney, managing director of Wain Estates, added: “Amy will be a huge asset to the business as we continue to expand our strategic land portfolio.
“Her planning expertise combined with first-hand farming knowledge will be invaluable when working closely with landowners and communities to secure sustainable planning outcomes across the country.”
