TRACK7 prints growth plan with Flex4 deal
A North East technology group has strengthened its digital commerce offer with the acquisition of a specialist eCommerce platform serving the UK print sector.
TRACK7 Technology Group, parent company of Newcastle-based digital development agency Enigma Interactive, has bought Cumbria’s RWS Web Solutions Ltd, the business behind Flex4 OPS.
Founded in Kendal, Flex4 combines web-to-print technology with digital marketing tools and supports a broad client and partner base, including Konica Minolta.
Bosses say the deal expands TRACK7’s footprint into a high-growth segment of the digital commerce market, complementing Enigma’s experience delivering large-scale digital transformation programmes across the UK and internationally.
They add that Flex4 will continue operating independently from its Kendal base, with co-founder Francis Whiteley remaining as managing director and the existing team staying in place.
Steve Grainger, founder and managing director of TRACK7 Technology Group and Enigma Interactive, said: “Flex4 OPS has built a strong product and is market leader in a highly competitive sector.
“Bringing the business under the umbrella of the Track7 Technology Group will allow it to consolidate its market leading position and support its next stage of growth.
“Over the coming months we’ll be investing in the platform, strengthening capability, and helping the team scale, while keeping Flex4’s day-to-day operations independent.
“We’re excited to welcome Francis and the team into the group and to see what we can achieve together.”
Francis added: “This is a positive step for Flex4.
“After many years as a family-run business, this acquisition gives us the backing, leadership support and investment we need to take the company to the next level, while keeping things ‘business as usual’ for our customers.
“Enigma brings deep experience in delivering complex digital programmes, and we’re looking forward to learning from this to further strengthen our offer for new and existing clients.”
The acquisition marks TRACK7 Technology Group’s first deal as it pursues a longer-term strategy of growth through complementary digital platforms and specialist teams.
