Lift firm 'takes offer higher' with Scottish expansion

A lift repair and installation firm says it has elevated its offer with an office move.

Pickerings Lifts has opened a 3880sq ft Glasgow base.

Bosses say the expansion will “strengthen its presence across Scotland and support continued growth” from the Highlands to Stranraer.

They add the base - which supersedes previous Glasgow hubs - provides “significantly more operational space… and demonstrates its confidence in the Scottish market”.

Headquartered in Stockton, Pickerings Lifts operates sites across the UK, providing service, repair and installation support to more than 5000 customers across industries including healthcare, retail, hospitality and the public sector.

Kiran Fothergill, Pickerings Lifts’ director, said: “Scotland is an important part of our business and this investment reflects our long-term commitment to the region.

“Its location means we can respond quickly and efficiently, whether we are working in the central belt, the Borders or the Highlands and Islands.

“We compete with some of the largest international names in the lift industry, and this investment demonstrates our confidence in the Scottish market and our team.”

Paul Brooks, managing director, added: “Many customers want to work with companies that are firmly established in their region, and being based in Glasgow strengthens those relationships.”
