Square One Law grows teams with seven new hires
Square One Law has strengthened its team with seven new appointments across its Newcastle and Leeds offices.
The hires include commercial property partner Rebecca Dawson and employment solicitor Annabel Doyle, both based in Newcastle.
Rebecca brings more than 20 years’ experience in commercial property, finance, development and construction, while Annabel previously worked at Burnett’s and Collingwood Legal.
Rebecca said: “I am genuinely proud to join Square One.
“It’s amazing to be part of a law firm doing things differently, whether that’s making legal support more accessible, creating opportunity for marginalised groups, or delivering outstanding client service.
“It’s a real thrill to join this incredible team with its brilliant B Corp values evident throughout the business.”
Annabel added: “The fact that Square One Law is so focused on attracting new talent is a real bonus, and it’s great to start at a time of real growth.
Other new arrivals include commercial property senior associate Jill Anderson, commercial solicitor Lewis McKeowen, employment solicitor Meagan Leightley, commercial property paralegal Ben Powell and legal support assistant Maleehah Hussein.
Jill added: “Square One Law is an exciting and progressive law firm that has grown exponentially in recent years, and I’m delighted to join the team.
“I’ve worked in local government and private companies across a range of exciting projects and am very much looking forward to drawing on that experience to help Square One continue to build its excellent reputation for client delivery.”
Lewis added: “Having spent the last six years building my experience in commercial law at another Newcastle-based firm, I’ve watched Square One Law grow and really change the game for law firms.
“It’s a real thrill to join a brilliant business and an incredibly talented commercial team.”
The appointments span a range of roles from partner to paralegal, supporting the firm’s continued growth across both offices.
Jean-Pierre van Zyl, partner and head of people at Square One Law, added: “There’s nothing like a fresh intake of talented individuals to really invigorate the business.
“I am delighted at the calibre of people we have appointed, but even more pleased that these brilliant people see Square One Law as the best place to build their careers.”
