Craft Social brews up creative hub
A new café dedicated to bringing a slower, more mindful approach to socialising coming to Skipton.
Craft Social is set to open on Newmarket Street on Saturday, March 28, offering a screen-free environment where visitors can take part in hands-on craft activities including painting, beading and spray art.
Founded by Ilkley-based creatives Sophie Howarth and Rebecca Ritchie, the business builds on the success of their mobile workshops, which launched in 2024.
The café will host regular workshops, private events and walk-in sessions, alongside take-home craft kits.
It will also collaborate with local artists, providing a platform to showcase work and host events.
With locally sourced refreshments and a focus on community, the new venue aims to create a welcoming space for creativity, connection and relaxation.
Sophie & Rebecca said: “After seeing the joy our mobile workshops brought to people over the past year, opening Craft Social as a permanent space felt like the natural next step.
“We wanted to create a calm, welcoming space where people can step away from busy life, get creative and leave feeling proud of what they’ve made.”
