Plans submitted for prime logistics site
A Scottish industrial and logistics scheme is set to boost supply of high-quality logistics space in a prime location.
Manse LLP and J. Smart & Co. (Contractors) Plc have submitted plans for Eurocentral Gateway, a 200,000sq ft scheme in North Lanarkshire.
The joint venture development will comprise two units of around 80,000sq ft and 120,000sq ft, designed to meet modern occupier needs with a focus on sustainability, efficiency and high-quality design.
Located within the established Eurocentral business park between Glasgow and Edinburgh, the site offers strong transport links via the M8 and A8, positioning it as a prime location for distribution and logistics operators.
The plans come amid a shortage of new industrial space across Scotland’s Central Belt, with vacancy rates along the M8 corridor remaining low.
CBRE and Colliers have been appointed as joint letting agents and are inviting occupiers to explore pre-let opportunities ahead of construction, subject to planning approval.
Craig Semple, director at CBRE Scotland, said: “Eurocentral Gateway represents an exciting opportunity to bring high-quality industrial and logistics space to the market. Demand for prime accommodation across Scotland remains very strong, particularly in established locations such as Eurocentral, so this development will be a welcome addition for occupiers seeking modern, sustainable space.
“We are encouraging businesses to engage early and explore the potential for pre-let opportunities.”
Iain Davidson, director in Colliers industrial and logistics team, added: “With new supply of premium industrial space in the west of Scotland remaining tight, the development of Eurocentral Gateway with its exceptional connectivity, state of the art specification and sustainability credentials will be a welcome opportunity for the sustained occupier demand we’re seeing in the market.
“The proposed design sets a new benchmark for industrial and logistics space along the M8 corridor, offering potential tenants a best-in-class operational property.”
