Devine Chemicals relocates to drive growth
A North East manufacturing firm is set to expand its operations after relocating to larger premises to support rising global demand.
Devine Chemicals, an additives manufacturer and distributor based in County Durham, has relocated to a 30,000sq ft site in Consett, double the size of its previous Stanley facility, as well as opening a second office and warehouse in Heerhugowaard, in Holland.
The relocation follows a period of sustained growth and forms part of the company’s wider strategy to scale its production and innovation capabilities.
Bosses say the new site will include a bespoke innovation and production area, supporting the development of next-generation additives, alongside investment in machinery and expanded warehousing.
They add the move is also expected to improve efficiency by increasing production capacity and reducing logistics costs.
Daniel Devine, managing director, said: “This move is transformative for Devine Chemicals as it gives us the capacity we need to grow and drive further innovation in our industry, through the creation of new products and supporting our customers in delivering their own solutions.
“Our team has grown, international demand is increasing – especially in the U.S. – and we’re well-positioned to grow our headcount and sales revenue.”
Founded in 1994, Devine Chemicals supplies water-based additives to sectors including coatings, construction, agrochemicals and adhesives, and operates internationally with locations in Europe and the United States.
The company will continue to utilise its national technical centre in Haslingden, in Lancashire, to support research and development, while the new County Durham facility strengthens its ability to meet growing demand from global markets.
