Alexander Battery Technologies expands engineering team
County Durham-based manufacturer Alexander Battery Technologies has appointed six new team members across engineering and project roles at its Peterlee site.
Mark Burton joins as technical manager, alongside Andrew Stevenson and Alastair Pollitt in testing roles, while Chris Muteham has been appointed senior project manager.
Mark said: “Expanding the engineering team gives us the depth of expertise needed across development, testing and mechanical design.
“As the business grows it’s important that we continue strengthening those areas while also investing in the next generation of engineers.”
Alexander Johnson joins as senior mechanical design engineer, with Sameed Rashid appointed as an AI engineering apprentice.
Sameed added: “Joining the company as an AI engineering apprentice gives me the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers while developing practical skills.
“Exploring how AI can be applied within engineering and manufacturing is particularly interesting.”
The new hires bring experience across electronics, testing, design and project delivery, strengthening the company’s technical capabilities.
The appointments support Alexander Battery Technologies’ continued growth as it expands its battery systems offering across multiple sectors.
Mark Rutherford, chief executive of Alexander Battery Technologies, added: “These appointments strengthen the depth of engineering and project expertise within the business as we continue to develop advanced battery technologies for our customers.
“Bringing in experienced engineers alongside developing new talent through apprenticeships is an important part of how we grow the company and maintain the technical capability needed to support a wide range of applications.”
