Avison Young promotes head of capital markets

Global commercial real estate advisor Avison Young has promoted Guy Spencer to head of national capital markets as it continues to expand its UK platform.

Based in London, Guy joined the firm in 2025 and brings experience from roles at BNP Paribas and Strutt & Parker.

He has advised on more than £2 billion of transactions across a range of sectors, including business space and life sciences.

Guy’s promotion strengthens Avison Young’s capital markets offering as it continues to grow its London team and specialist capabilities.

He said: “Since joining Avison Young, I have been continuously impressed with the expertise, knowledge, research and dedication of the team here, and as we enter a new phase of growth for the capital markets business, I’m energised by the shifts we’re seeing across the market and the possibilities they’re creating for clients.

“The pace of change right now is opening doors that didn’t exist even a year ago.

“Being able to play a bigger part in helping clients capture those opportunities is something I’m genuinely excited about.

“I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Chris Pilgrim, principal, managing director and head of capital markets UK at Avison Young, added: “Guy’s promotion marks another important milestone for our capital markets team, as we continue to innovate to provide a market-leading service for our growing client base.

“His leadership will play a central role in shaping our national strategy, strengthening our capabilities across key sectors and sharpening our focus on the most significant opportunities in the market.

“His energy and ambition set the tone for where we’re heading next, and I’m looking forward to working closely as we embark on this next chapter.”
