Developer starts work on £40 million student build
A property developer has kicked off work on a £40 million student accommodation scheme.
Tiger Developments has broken ground on a 172-bed Manchester development.
Officials say the venture will “respond to clear demand in one of the UK’s strongest student markets”.
Building work – overseen by main contractor GMI Construction Group – is set to be completed ahead of the 2027/2028 academic year.
Financed by Tiger Developments alongside funding partner Hampshire Trust Bank, the property – based close to the University of Manchester – will be managed by Tiger Developments’ operational business Host.
John Nesbitt, executive director at London-based Tiger Developments, said: “Manchester has strong demand for well-located student accommodation, and this development reflects our commitment to delivering sustainable, thoughtfully designed homes for students.”
Andrew Dignum, of Hampshire Trust Bank, added: “By combining our shared expertise and vision, we are bringing forward a well-designed and sustainable development.
“This collaboration reflects our commitment to building long-term partnerships with experienced teams to create lasting value.”
