Bramall Lane gets digital upgrade boost
Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane has undergone a major digital transformation to enhance fan experience and commercial opportunities.
Preston-headquartered AV specialist ADI has delivered the upgrade, introducing a suite of new LED technologies across the ground.
The project includes a high-resolution main screen, a new perimeter advertising system, digital ribbon displays and upgraded signage, alongside external screens to create a more immersive matchday environment.
The transformation is designed to improve visual impact while providing flexible platforms for live content and sponsor messaging.
ADI worked with the club from initial consultancy through to delivery, implementing its Live Venue broadcast network to manage content across the stadium.
The system allows real-time control of digital assets, supporting both in-stadium engagement and commercial activity.
Claire Fitzgerald-Firth, head of engagement and client services at ADI, which recently delivered the UK’s largest indoor fan zone screen at Villa Park, said: “This project is a perfect example of how we help clubs unlock the full potential of their venues.
“From the new digiBOARD system to the digital ribbons and signage, every element has been designed to elevate the matchday experience and deliver greater value for fans, sponsors and the club alike.”
The upgrade places Sheffield United among a growing number of clubs adopting advanced digital infrastructure as part of efforts to modernise venues and strengthen matchday experiences.
Stephen Bettis, chief executive of Sheffield United, added: “This is a landmark moment for the club.
“We’re not just upgrading our screens – we’re enhancing the entire fan experience and creating a more dynamic commercial platform for our partners.
“This investment reflects our ambition to modernise Bramall Lane and deliver a Premier League-standard environment, both on and off the pitch.”
