Headlam Hall unveils new spa terrace
A County Durham luxury hotel has enhanced its wellness offering with a new outdoor-focused spa extension designed to better connect guests with the surrounding countryside.
Headlam Hall Hotel & Rural Retreat has unveiled a terraced addition to its spa, creating extra space for relaxation while maximising views across the landscape as part of its continued investment in wellness facilities.
At the heart of the extension is a larger hydrotherapy spa pool with enhanced massage jets, designed to deliver a more immersive and restorative experience.
Complementing this is a new relaxation area, featuring loungers set beneath a retractable canopy with glazed sides.
This flexible design allows the space to open fully in warmer weather, giving guests access to fresh air and panoramic views, while still functioning as a sheltered extension during cooler conditions.
Building on existing facilities including a swimming pool, sauna, steam rooms and treatment suites, the new terrace strengthens the spa’s connection to the outdoors and enhances the overall guest experience.
Set within the County Durham countryside, the development marks the latest step in ongoing improvements, with further plans already in place for an additional spa garden in 2027.
Thomas Robinson, director at Headlam Hall Hotel, said: “The vision behind the terrace spa renovation was to enhance the outdoor side of the spa and make even more of the wonderful views around us.
“We wanted to create a space that feels calm, comfortable and closely connected to the surrounding countryside, while also giving guests greater flexibility to enjoy it throughout the year.
“It’s a simple but meaningful upgrade that gives guests a beautiful new space to relax as part of their spa visit.”
