Immersive Van Gogh show sees record sales
An immersive exhibition is seeing strong demand ahead of its Newcastle run.
Annerin Productions has reported record UK ticket sales for Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience ahead of its run at Utilita Arena Newcastle from July 12 to August 9.
The exhibition has achieved the fastest sales pace of its UK tour within its first six weeks on sale.
Produced with Paquin Entertainment Group, the experience has already welcomed more than seven million visitors worldwide.
The Newcastle installation will transform a 10,000sq ft arena space, using projection technology and sound to bring more than 300 of Vincent van Gogh’s works to life.
The event is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors, with capacity for up to 2700 people per day.
Running during the school holidays, the programme includes SEND-friendly sessions, adult-only evenings and weekend immersive yoga experiences, aiming to broaden its appeal and encourage repeat visits.
Anna Parry, UK business development director at Annerin Productions, said: “Early sales in Newcastle have outperformed all previous UK locations, reinforcing the North East as a key market for immersive experiences.
“This format continues to demonstrate strong commercial viability, combining high visitor throughput with broad audience appeal.”
Caroline James, general manager of Utilita Arena Newcastle, added: “This production highlights how arena spaces can be reimagined to host high-capacity cultural experiences.
“It is expected to attract visitors from across the region and support wider economic activity during the summer season.”
Stephen Patterson, chief executive of Newcastle NE1 Ltd, added: “We are delighted to welcome the Van Gogh immersive event to Newcastle.
“Record-breaking early ticket sales demonstrate the clear demand for high-quality cultural experiences in the North East.
“Events like this play an important role in driving visitors into the city, supporting local businesses and reinforcing Newcastle’s position as a leading destination for culture and entertainment.”
