Transport recruiter drives on with record results
A transport and distribution sector recruitment firm says it is in top gear after chalking up record results.
Driver Hire has seen national office network turnover hit £129.1 million.
Bosses say the figure – which marks a 7.8 per cent year-on-year increase – comes after the Bradford-headquartered operator found work for more than 15,000 drivers and supported 4700 customers.
Founded more than 40 years ago, Driver Hire provides temporary and permanent drivers and staff to public and private sector organisations regionally and nationally.
Chris Chidley, chief executive, said: “The past 12 months have shown what an exceptional business we are.
“Figures show 70 per cent of our offices are in growth; half of them achieved turnover in excess of £1 million.
“Two of our offices – Aberdeen and Bury St Edmunds – passed the £4 million turnover mark, making them the first Driver Hire franchises to achieve this.
“A particular standout was HGV licence acquisition and other vocational skills training, ending the year 40 per cent up.
“And we’ve continued the momentum into the new financial year, with our office network making a strong start.”
