Land secured for 144-home Redhill scheme
A Midlands housebuilder is expanding its development pipeline with a new residential scheme.
Staffordshire-headquartered Cameron Homes has acquired a 17-acre site in Redhill, Nottinghamshire, where it plans to build 144 homes in a £40 million scheme.
The development, known as Hawksley Rise, has already secured planning consent from Gedling Borough Council.
Located near Arnold and within five miles of Nottingham city centre, bosses say the site will deliver a mix of one to four-bedroom properties, including 21 affordable homes.
Work is set to begin immediately, with enabling works under way to accelerate delivery.
The scheme will feature traditionally styled red brick homes alongside modern sustainability measures, including solar panels, electric vehicle charging points and smart heating systems.
Environmental enhancements will also be incorporated, with plans for an attenuation pond, wildlife features and biodiversity improvements across the site.

The acquisition marks Cameron Homes’ largest to date and strengthens its pipeline, as the developer continues to deliver new housing across the Midlands.
John Hickman, group land director for Tara Group and Cameron Homes, added: “By volume, this is one of the largest development opportunities we’ve ever acquired in a single phase.
“Delivering 144 homes on this prestige 17.2-acre site in Redhill will really cement our brand across Nottinghamshire, especially as we are also part-way through the construction of 57 family homes two miles away at Mapperley Meadows.
“With our sister company Chasetown Civil Engineering making an immediate start to the groundworks – to prepare the site for construction – we’re pleased to be able to work to an accelerated project delivery plan.
“We hope to unveil an on-site show home in 12 months’ time.”
JLL’s Birmingham office acted for the landowner of the underutilised agricultural land.
William Cox, lead director for residential at JLL’s Birmingham office, added: “It’s been a pleasure to work with Cameron Homes on this land deal, which will see this prime site in Redhill brought forward for much needed family and affordable housing.
“On completion, the development will also benefit from 5.6-acres of new public open space, including a children’s play area, which will provide a new community asset to Redhill.”
