Fashion founder eyes award hat-trick
A North East sustainable fashion entrepreneur who turned a living-room hobby into a high-end styling boutique has been shortlisted for three regional business awards.
Maddie Sidebottom, founder of Wynyard Re:Loved, is in the running for three honours at the 2026 FB Fashion Ball Business Hero Awards, including North East Independent Business of the Year.
Launched four years ago, the company has grown into an appointment-only boutique specialising in premium high-street and designer fashion sold through social media and a VIP WhatsApp community.
Wynyard Re:Loved combines personal styling services with a focus on sustainability, encouraging customers to reuse and recycle fashion items rather than buy fast fashion.
The boutique has styled clients for events including Buckingham Palace garden parties and has dressed public figures, including Steps singer Faye Tozer.
Alongside its fashion offering, the business has raised thousands of pounds for charities including Mind and Feeding Families through fundraising events and donated stock sales.
Maddie said: “These nominations are for the fantastic community of Re:Loved women.
“It’s never just been about selling clothes; it’s about confidence.
“Many of my clients are navigating menopause, illness or neurodiversity and find traditional shopping environments overwhelming.
“The one-to-one appointment model allows me to focus entirely on the individual and offer a genuine, honest styling service.”
Maddie added: “Fast fashion is devastating the environment.
“I don’t even use the term ‘pre-loved’ because that implies the item’s life is in the past.
“We are about the next journey.
“We are proving that you can have timeless, designer style without the environmental cost of buying new.”
The 2026 Business Hero Awards ceremony will take place in Newcastle on Thursday, May 21.
