Knights 'armed for growth' after stronger performance

A national legal and professional services firm has refused to rule out future takeovers after market moves helped deliver stronger financial results.

Knights says annual revenues are expected to rise 28 per cent to £207 million in the year to April 30, with underlying EBITDA 19 per cent better off at £51 million.

And bosses say the numbers leave the business with a strong foundation from which to grow through potential acquisitions, revealing the company is “assessing a healthy pipeline of opportunities”.

The bullish outlook comes after Knights – whose UK-wide office portfolio includes sites in Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham and Oxford – swooped for Essex-based Birkett Long and Kent and Sussex-based Rix & Kay Solicitors LLP.

The business – which was headline sponsor of Bdaily publisher NET’s recent NET 250 event – is also in discussions to buy London and Hampshire operator Moore Barlow LLP, having previously sealed deals for Thursfields Legal and IBB Law.

David Beech, chief executive, said: “We have delivered a strong financial performance in the 2026 financial year, driven by organic growth, our successful acquisition strategy and the sustained benefits of our differentiated business model.

“This has all been underpinned by disciplined execution from our expanded management team.”

Knights’ office estate stretches across the UK, from Carlisle and Stockton-on-Tees to Leeds, Sheffield and York.

Further hubs include sites in Brighton, Cheltenham, Chester, Exeter, Leicester, Manchester, Portsmouth, Stoke, Weybridge and Wilmslow.
