Student living brand launches in Sunderland
A new premium student accommodation development is set to expand housing options for students in Sunderland city centre.
Original Student Living has launched its first scheme on Olive Street, close to the University of Sunderland, with the first residents expected to move in from September 2026.
Created by Original Investments, the development will feature 30 high-spec studio apartments designed to offer a more aspirational student living experience.
The apartments include custom-built kitchens, super-fast WiFi, Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware, onsite gym facilities and dedicated study and social spaces.
Located near transport links, cafés and university buildings, the scheme aims to attract both UK and international students as demand for modern accommodation in Sunderland continues to grow.
Kyle Fowler, founder of Original Student Living, said: “Original Student Living has been created to provide a refined, coveted product for Students who value quality and comfort.
“Everything we do in construction, manufacturing and now development is to create a lasting high-quality product that the whole team is proud to have delivered.
“Our aim is to create spaces where students feel confident, comfortable and inspired to achieve their best during their time at university.”
Show apartments are now complete, with prospective students able to register their interest for the 2026 academic year.
The launch also marks the beginning of a wider ambition to establish Original Student Living as a national student accommodation brand, with Sunderland becoming its first UK location.
