Housing association Bernicia promotes director

North East housing association Bernicia has promoted Ryan Irving-Carr to director of assets and growth as part of a continued strengthening of its senior leadership team.

Ryan joined the organisation 14 years ago and has progressed through a range of roles within the business, with the latest promotion recognising his leadership and operational experience.

In his new role, he will oversee teams responsible for managing and maintaining Bernicia’s 14,000 homes, including investment in energy-saving technology and the delivery of safe, high-quality housing standards.

Ryan will work closely with executive director of assets and growth David Pye as Bernicia continues to invest in its housing stock and long-term growth plans.

Ryan said: “I’m thrilled and really excited to continue my career path at Bernicia, helping deliver the ambitious targets set out in our five-year corporate strategy.

“It’s really exciting to get the opportunity to work in such a strategic role and help empower my team to deliver the safe, high-quality homes that make such a positive difference to our tenants’ lives.

“I’d like to thank David in particular, along with the executive team, my own team and many other colleagues, for their ongoing support. Bernicia’s collaborative culture is what underpins its success.

“That complete and rounded approach has been invaluable to my career progression, giving me a comprehensive overview of what our tenants and communities need.”

David Pye, Bernicia executive director of assets and growth, added: “Bernicia has a proud track record of nurturing talent within the business and there is no better example than Ryan.

“He is a role model of our values and is highly respected by colleagues, tenants, customers and stakeholders alike.

“He will play a crucial role in leading the assets and property team and helping deliver our new corporate strategy.”
