Ripon Group appoints chief financial officer
North Yorkshire-based agricultural machinery and ground care dealership Ripon Group has appointed Chris Northway as chief financial officer as the business continues to strengthen its senior leadership team.
Chris joins the board following a recruitment process led by finance specialist Headstar and brings nearly two decades of senior finance experience across large, multi-site and stock-intensive businesses.
A chartered accountant who began his career at KPMG, he most recently served as director of financial control at Barrett Steel.
In his new role, Chris will lead Ripon Group’s finance function, supporting strategic planning, financial performance and future growth across the company’s network of 13 depots spanning Yorkshire, Teesside, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
Richard Simpson, chief executive at Ripon Group, said: “Headstar provided fantastic support in identifying exceptional finance leaders, with Chris standing out as the clear choice from a strong shortlist.
“His experience in complex, multi-location businesses, combined with his technical expertise and commercial acumen, makes him a superb addition to our leadership team, and I’m excited to be working closely with him to advance our growth and transformation plans.”
