Tanker firm eyes growth with staff and fleet move
A national liquid waste transport firm says it is poised to drive ahead with growth plans thanks to a workforce and fleet expansion.
Universal Tankers has unveiled a 24 staff and 20 tanker investment.
Bosses say the move – which includes 20 drivers and four office workers – marks “one of the most ambitious periods of expansion in its history” and leaves it primed to win larger contracts and extend its geographical reach.
The expansion has also seen Toby Gunn transition from managing director to chief executive at the liquid waste removal and potable and non-potable delivery company, with ex-group head of transport Craig Pennington becoming managing director.
Matthew Tanfield has been promoted to chief operating officer, with Mark Teasdale moving from a financial controller role to financial director, and Gavin Bowen becoming group head of transport and compliance manager.
Headquartered in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, the business operates a depot network that includes sites in Aberdeen, Bromsgrove, Dartford, Doncaster, Exeter, Gateshead, Leighton Buzzard and St Helens.
Craig said: “We’re incredibly proud to recognise the dedication and hard work of our staff through these promotions.
“Seeing team members progress reflects the strength of our people and the opportunities available as we continue to grow nationwide.
“Having the right leaders in place will be instrumental in supporting our ambitious growth plans.”
