Housing association picks up top industry honour

A social property provider has secured an industry honour.

Leeds Jewish Housing Association has been named landlord of the year at the Northern Housing Awards 2026.

Bosses say the organisation scooped the prize after leaving judges “deeply impressed” by its “commitment to community, inclusivity and tenant wellbeing”.

The Moortown-based operator also received praise for its “resident-centred approach, innovative support services and strong partnerships” during the Manchester ceremony.

Founded in 1953, Leeds Jewish Housing Association oversees more than 500 properties delivered through a mix of individual, family, older people and shared ownership tenancies.

Mark Grandfield, Leeds Jewish Housing Association chief executive, said: “To be recognised by industry peers is special.

“But being nominated as the greatest social landlord in the North of England is even better because we’re adding real value to the communities we serve.”

Niki Yoshua, chair of Leeds Jewish Housing Association’s resident consultative group, added: “This award is for the tenants as well, many of whom work tirelessly with us to help achieve a fantastic housing association.”
