Wealth manager targets Wales growth with hub
A national wealth management firm says it is primed for growth following a Welsh office move.
Fairstone has opened a Cardiff hub.
Bosses say the venture – which unites more than 20 staff and advisers from three sites in South Wales and the Welsh Borders – marks a “significant step in its long-term growth strategy”.
They add the Vision Court-based endeavour is supporting more than 4500 clients and managing assets worth more than £400 million.
Steven Cooper, chief executive at Sunderland-headquartered Fairstone, said: “This is an important milestone in our plans to build a stronger, scaled presence across Wales, with Cardiff acting as the foundation for further growth.
“With strong levels of early-stage entrepreneurship in the UK and a well-evolved business support system, Wales is a country with a clear opportunity for long-term growth.”
Mike Slater, Fairstone central region managing director, added: “We’ve designed the hub with plenty of growing room to accommodate the additional advisers and support staff we anticipate joining us over the next 12 to 18 months and beyond.”
Operating from more than 50 bases across the UK, 1350-plus-staff Fairstone oversees more than £22 billion in assets under management on behalf of 65,000-plus wealth and 60,000 mortgage clients.
Its Cardiff move follows a number of acquisitions, including a deal for Brierley Hill-based Prosperity Wealth, which has created a West Midlands hub.
