Work begins on new care home in Nuneaton
A Warwickshire care home operator has started work on a multi-million-pound development that will create almost 100 jobs and expand care provision in Nuneaton.
Care UK has broken ground on a new care home on Weddington Road that will provide residential, dementia, nursing and respite care for up to 75 older people.
The home is expected to welcome its first residents in winter 2027 and will create 96 jobs once operational.
Designed to promote independence and support active lifestyles, the development will feature a range of facilities including a cinema, café and hair salon.
Residents will also benefit from secure, wheelchair-friendly outdoor spaces incorporating sensory gardens, water features and seating areas.
The building will be arranged into a series of individual suites, each with its own lounge and dining area to help create smaller community settings within the home.
An expert care team will also provide support tailored to residents’ individual needs, with facilities designed to encourage social interaction, leisure activities and hobbies.
Janine Eckelt, development project manager for Care UK, said: “We’re delighted to share that work has commenced at Nuneaton’s new site.
“This impressive development – set to become our fifth care home in Warwickshire, reflects our commitment to improving residential care in the region.
“At Care UK we take great pride in the build quality of each home, carefully considering design and layout in order to improve the everyday experiences of those living in a care environment.
“This thoughtfully planned new home will live up to these standards, providing a high-quality home for older people in Nuneaton and surrounding areas.”
Liam Aistrop, project director at Liberty Care Developments, added: “Construction is off to a great start and we’re on track to complete the work by winter 2027.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Care UK on their brand-new Nuneaton care home, bringing our expertise as a developer to the project.
“We’re already looking forward to reaching our next milestone in the coming months.”
