Lettings agent lays down deeper roots with takeover
A lettings and property management firm has expanded with a takeover.
Dwelly has bought Move.
The company says its swoop adds a business with “deep local roots and a strong culture” to its stable.
It also adds 1100 fully managed properties across branches in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Worcester.
Under the terms of the deal, Move founder George Tatham-Losh has taken a step back, with Verity Howes moving into the role of managing director.
Sam Humphreys, head of mergers and acquisitions at Dwelly, which operates a 10,000-plus-strong national property portfolio, said: “Move stood out because it has deep local roots, a strong culture and a team that genuinely understands its market.
“Those qualities are incredibly difficult to build, and they’re exactly what we value most when looking at acquisitions.”
George added: “As the industry continues to evolve, it became increasingly important to find a partner that could help take the business forward while protecting the culture and reputation we’ve worked so hard to build.”
The takeover follows a recent deal for Cheltenham-based lettings agency Elliot Oliver, which added 900 fully managed properties to Dwelly’s network.
