AECOM strengthens environment and energy leadership
Infrastructure consultancy AECOM has appointed Angela Mulgrew and Eloise John to senior leadership roles across its environment and energy businesses in Europe and India.
Eloise joins the company's executive leadership team after leading AECOM's European energy business for the past three years.
An electrical engineer with more than 20 years of sector experience, she has helped grow the firm’s multidisciplinary energy practice across renewables, transmission and distribution, nuclear and emerging technologies.
She said: "The energy sector is evolving at an incredible pace.
“From modernising electricity networks and expanding renewable generation to advancing nuclear and emerging technologies such as fusion, there’s a huge amount of innovation and investment going into the infrastructure that will underpin a more sustainable and resilient future.
“What excites me most is helping clients turn ambitious plans into projects that make a real difference.
“We have a fantastic team, deep technical expertise and a strong track record of delivery and I’m looking forward to working with our clients and partners to help shape the next generation of energy infrastructure.”
Angela, a chartered environmentalist, has been promoted after serving as director of environment since 2023.
She brings extensive experience leading environmental and water businesses in the UK and internationally and has overseen teams delivering planning, environmental and stakeholder services across major infrastructure projects.
Together, they will lead more than 2000 professionals across the region, focusing on business growth, client relationships and technical capability.
Angela added: “Our clients are navigating increasingly complex challenges that don’t fit neatly into one discipline.
“Whether it’s delivering major infrastructure, protecting and enhancing the natural environment or responding to climate and environmental change, success comes from bringing together the right expertise and perspectives.
"That’s why it’s really important we create an environment where our people can grow, collaborate and do their best work.
“We have exceptional talent across our business and I'm excited to work with Eloise and our teams to continue building our capabilities and helping clients deliver positive outcomes for communities and the environment.”
The appointments come as AECOM continues to support major programmes across energy, water and infrastructure, including projects linked to decarbonisation, renewable energy, grid upgrades and next-generation technologies such as fusion energy.
