RMT expands south with London office
A North East accountancy and business advisory firm is expanding its presence in the south of England with a new London office and plans to grow its specialist recovery services.
RMT Accountants & Business Advisors has opened premises in Cavendish Square.
Bosses at the Gosforth-headquartered firm say the new office will focus on business recovery and restructuring work as it seeks to build its client base across London and the wider south of England.
To support the expansion, RMT, which is part of Sumer Group, has appointed experienced insolvency practitioner Manjit Shokar as head of recovery and insolvency for London and the south.
Manjit brings almost 25 years of professional services experience and has previously held senior business recovery roles across the sector.
RMT expects to create a number of new jobs as the office grows.
Manjit said: “The strength of RMT’s insolvency offering is well recognised in our industry and there’s a great opportunity to extend our presence in London and the south.
“Every business recovery and restructuring case is different, meaning the solutions we develop have to be just as individualised, and we have the expertise and experience to deliver the best possible outcomes for everyone involved.”
Chris Ferguson, director of recovery and restructuring at RMT Accountants & Business Advisors, added: “Our London team is already an important part of our restructuring offering, and our aim is to scale RMT’s reach across these areas through the skills of our expert recovery specialists and by leveraging the additional resources that being part of the Sumer Group provides.
“Manjit’s appointment is a key step in accelerating our growth plans in London and the south.
“His depth of industry experience and knowledge will help us deliver on our growth ambitions and we’re very pleased to be welcoming him to the team.”
